Meet the Band
After more than twenty years together, Veronica and Jorge had already spent much of their lives singing side by side, from Miami stages to New York bands and tribute projects. When one of those projects came to an end, they decided it was time to create something of their own. The name came naturally: The Verge, from VEronica + JoRGE.
In no time, Jorge and Veronica recruited Willy B, John, and Mike at Mike's birthday party. Finding the right guitarist took a little longer, but once Alex came aboard, the lineup was complete.
What started as a conversation between friends became The Verge: a band built on chemistry, friendship, and a shared love of timeless rock & roll.

Jorge
Vocals
Jorge Delgado started performing in the south Florida rock/pop scene at 14 in multiple genres in both English and Spanish, with original projects and several successful top-40 acts (most notably Funkette and The Swinging Richards) he was eventually signed with Circo/Sony/BMG with Spanish indie-rock group Tango36 in the early 2000s. In 2012, he moved to New York City and has performed at many of NYC’s top venues with several tribute and cover bands. If you catch him offstage at a show, he’ll proudly regale you with tales of opening for Chaka Khan and Celia Cruz.

Veronica ("V")
Vocals
Though her background is predominantly theater and voiceover work, Veronica (“V”) grew up in a musical household: her father is renowned bandoneonist and composer David Alsina. She took to music from an early age since her home was full of live music, all the time. In addition to singing backup for several years, V has been a band manager, concert promoter, CEO of an indie record label, as well as a jingle singer.

John
Drums
After playing in grunge bands in Philly in the early 90’s, drummer John Rubin moved to NYC in 1993 and was soon playing in a variety of musical projects, gigging and recording throughout the tristate area. Over the years, John has studied with Michael Carvin, Andrew Cyrille, and attended the Drummer’s Collective while also building his own teaching practice and sharing his joy of the instrument with others. From rock/grunge to pop, to funk/jazz, John continues to be an active collaborator sharing his rhythmic ideas, playing drums with a smile on his face.

Willy B
Keys, etc.
Willy B is a Brooklyn-based performer and composer. Through music he has had the privilege of sharing the stage with diverse groups all over the United States, playing rock, country, jazz, tango and everything in between. In addition to rocking with The Verge, he is a founding member of the Inverse Square Trio, which explores the intersections of science and music.

Mike
Bass
Hailing from the wild lands of Wales, bassist Mike Owen honed his craft playing in several UK Grunge bands before relocating to NY in 2008. Since arriving in NY, Mike turned his attention to the cover band and freelance scene and has played in numerous working cover bands ever since. In addition to his day to day music activities, Mike also works on several charitable music projects.

Alex
Guitar
The newest member of The Verge and native son of Brooklyn, John "Alex" Morales III has played in cover bands, indie bands, and party bands in every borough of NYC. Since the early 90’s his music career has included everything from Manhattan night clubs to private events, recording studios, and more.
